Technical Advisor

Summary

Work to optimize safe production, processes, design, operations and controls of gas compression and processing facilities through engineering reviews, site inspections, data trending, while collaborating and communicating with O&M teams and engineering groups throughout Enerflex,  depending on engineering principles, and using available skills/tools/resources in an ethical and professional manner

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

Work with O&M teams to review and optimize production through process analyses, engineering reviews and system debottlenecking

Review and update project drawings and other Engineering and process documents

Work with regional engineering and technical group to support O&M team with engineering and design requests

Review compression equipment sizing and performance specification

Review vendor’s technical documents, drawings, datasheets, specifications and calculations

Develop best practices, innovative solutions and processes to optimize safe production

Perform process simulations and risk assessments regularly and as required

Perform Root Cause Analysis on repetitive failures

Lead improvements initiative, evaluate and implement them for quality improvement of repaired components

Liaise with the relevant departments to procure materials and supplies as required for workshop Operation

Handle the workshop inventory as per Company processes

Be involved in maintenance activities and provide technical advice when required 

Train the employees and develop training sessions/materials as requested by management

Comply with all Enerflex HR, Quality, HSE, and all the Company policies, procedures, processes, work instructions and guidelines

Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor / Manager

Qualifications

Technical degree in Chemical, Process or Mechanical or min 10 years of relevant years of experience

Minimum 4 years experience in natural gas processing and compression industry

Strong knowledge of basic and detailed process engineering for gas compression and gas processing equipment

Field experience on internal combustion engines including maintenance and overhaul work is a plus

Process simulation hands on experience (Hysys, Ariel runs, Waukesha and CAT GERP software) 

Ability to effectively interact with other departments and disciplines, work under stress, supervise others, manage projects, and train others

Excellent interpersonal, analytical and communication skills. Very Good verbal and written English command

Ability to achieve on time results in individual and team settings without supervision
