Mechanical Technician III
Summary
Responsible for fully performing the assigned maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization tasks on mechanical equipment in compliance with company procedures to achieve availability and reliability targets. Maintain effective communication with the Supervisor and Operations Team to ensure reliable, safe, and trouble-free facility operation.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
- Conduct planned and unplanned maintenance activities on rotating and static mechanical equipment, including engines, compressors, turbines, and pumps
- Plan and coordinate maintenance activities with the O&M lead, provide necessary support for scheduling and task execution as directed
- Collaborate with Operations and E&I teams to perform maintenance activities as per instructions and guidelines
- Perform troubleshooting and recommend actions to prevent equipment failures
- Handle and maintain tools and equipment used for performing maintenance activities
- Identify, report and correct any unsafe conditions to supervisors
- Assist in creating work orders in SAP is required and relay the required information to planners to update in CMMS/SAP
- Participate in the development of procedures and strategies for improving maintenance programs
- Identify the required spares, tools and manage the stocks through CMMS (SAP)
- Engage in periodic reviews of operational and maintenance procedures, facilitate discussions, and drive improvements
- Plan and oversee daily, monthly, and quarterly checks and frontline maintenance activities, ensuring thorough execution
- Participate in Root cause analysis of routine problems and failures
- Report any abnormalities observed in the plant to O&M lead and ensure that the problem is rectified
- Provide relevant feedback to the Supervisor / Manager about equipment performance to increase reliability and availability
- Identify and troubleshoot operational abnormalities proactively and coordinate with Manager/Supervisors to resolve issues promptly and effectively
- Ensure housekeeping and plant cleanliness during / after maintenance
- Maintain consistent and effective communication with clients and customers
- Comply with all Enerflex HR, Quality, HSE, and all the Company policies, procedures, processes, work instructions and guidelines
- Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor / Manager
Qualifications
- Minimum a technical degree in mechanical or equivalent
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Operation and Maintenance of reciprocating engines, compressors, pumps, and other mechanical equipment within Oil & Gas industry
- Hands on Knowledge of Caterpillar, Waukesha engines, Ariel, Superior, and Dresser Rand compressors. Familiarity with Solar Mars 100 gas turbines and centrifugal compressors is a plus
- Strong knowledge of troubleshooting, problem-solving and information analysis interpersonal skills
- Capable of performing all maintenance activities up to the Top-End Overhaul level, including tasks such as replacing main bearings, cylinder liners, and pistons and perform engine-compressor alignment independently
- Strong understanding of Maintenance Management System (Work orders, Preventive/Corrective/and Predictive Maintenance) methodology
- Computer proficiency is mandatory. Good working knowledge of typical Microsoft suite of software is required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Good English commands, written and spoken. Arabic is a plus
Physical Requirements
- Remote site working conditions, hot and humid climate, long working hours and vibrating platforms
- Different shift schedules. Available on call
