Instrumentation & Electrical Technician I

Condition of Employment

  • This position is initially a 1-year contract with the possibility of conversion to permanent employment upon successful performance evaluation.
  • You must be available to complete both onshore and on-the-job trainings in Songkhla before starting offshore duties.

Summary

Perform test, calibrate, operate, and repair electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, electrohydraulic, or electronic measuring and recording instruments, apparatus, and equipment per the SOP and Test Report from. Identify any abnormal condition and get the abnormal condition fixed under supervision. Involve with O&M to support troubleshooting non-complicated IE issues to improve RC reliability & performance.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

Maintenance:
Calibrate, disassemble, and reassemble instruments. Perform preventive/corrective maintenance, backup/download PLC & PV programs, and maintain special tools.

Troubleshooting:
Set up test equipment, identify faults, and report to the supervisor for corrective actions.

Commissioning:
Install, test equipment, perform loop/SCADA tests, and download PLC & PV programs.

Report & HSE:
Submit daily, calibration, and incident reports.

Qualifications

  • Age between 20 – 30 years
  • High Vocational or Bachelor’s degree of Electrical Engineering
  • 0 – 5 year of working experience in I&E fields
  • Able to work in shifts.
  • Able to work Onshore/Offshore rotation.

Challenges in this position

  • Basic PLC/PV program understanding and programming skill.
  • Basic PLC Communication system skill (MODBUS, ControlNet, Ethernet & etc.)
  • Smart devices’ setting up (DVC 6200 series, MicroMotion Flow Tx, Vortex Flow Tx, KTEK-LT, HYD Control modules and etc.).
  • Completion of what PLC/PV program modified under supervision.
  • Completion and correctness of each Test Report.
