Senior SAP Functional Analyst (SD/FI)
Summary
The SAP SD & Tax Analyst position is focused on supporting SAP end users primary in SD/FI SAP Modules in LATAM region (Focused in BRAZIL for Localization purposes and day to day business issues) as well as working together with SAP team cross-functionally to ensure a smooth SAP working environment. This includes working together with the relevant colleagues/internal customers to find SAP solutions to optimize the efficiency of in Sales Distribution and Finance processes, as well as the integration with other business processes and modules of SAP.
Availability to work at the Enerflex office in Rio de Janeiro - Brazil and travel within the regions.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
- Partner with the Finance/Tax and Procurement teams to understand business processes and gather business requirements.
- Analyze, research and resolve requests submitted by the business using existing procedures, and ensuring the solution is aligned with Corporate basis and/or local statutory purposes as AMS environment.
- Map the end user business requirement with standard functionalities available in ERP.
- Develop SAP knowledge/competency to LATAM functional end users throughout day to day business process flow.
- Elaborate supporting process documentation.
- Perform system regression testing for new releases or upgrades to SAP.
- Coordinate testing and user acceptance.
- Collaborate with other members of the SAP team on cross-functional solutions.
- Facilitate integration with end-users and drive lean and continuous improvements to the system.
- Support during month-end close period, making recommendations on existing solutions, and/or by walkthrough the business through business processes in existing LATAM Library.
- Provide functional support for SAP SD/FI processes with emphasis on Brazil localization (tax determination, billing, legal requirements, and statutory compliance).
Support and validate billing and pricing scenarios impacted by Brazil tax rules and localization (e.g., non-taxpayer billing, tax code behavior, document output and compliance).
- Coordinate regression testing and UAT for changes affecting Brazil processes (including refresh environments, releases, patches, and localization updates)
- Trouble shooting and provide functional support for questions/issues/incidents and enhancements covering functionality area of Finance, Taxation, SD and MM related to Brazil Localization
- Prepare and provide deskside or group training as required.
- Escalate questions/issues/requests that cannot be resolved to Corp IT. Collaborate with ABAP and Finance Systems teams to translate functional requirements into clear technical specifications and ensure timely delivery.
- Participate with Calgary SAP teams and Brazil Business Users to review issues, changes, and updates on periodical IT releases and SAP Security complying.
- Pass along updates to Finance/Tax and SD departments in Brazil (and LATAM region).
- Test new release affecting the key modules for taxation and functional for Brazil and within LATAM. Review results affected users and get approval to promote changes to production if no issues encountered
Qualifications
- Solid functional experience in SAP SD with strong understanding of FI integration (billing → accounting, pricing/tax impacts, revenue-related flows).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated exposure to Brazil tax/localization topics (indirect taxes, billing compliance, localization constraints and statutory behavior).
- Experience supporting production environments (AMS-style) including incident triage, root cause analysis, and user-facing communication.
- Excellent collaborator who can work with both business and technical resources.
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Business experience in a financial discipline would be a significant advantage.
- Strong ability to manage and adapt to change.
- Strong team player as well as ability to work well independently.
- Ability to travel to our operating regions
- Prior experience with Brazil electronic invoicing / tax ecosystem integrations (e.g., NF-e related flows, interfaces, external tax providers).
- Minimum 3-5 years relate accounting experience
- Working experience in SAP S/4 HANA Environments is a plus.
- Growing and effective working knowledge of SAP and proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Proficient in English and Portuguese; Spanish is a plus.
