Rotational Service Technician

Summary

The purpose of this position is to service and maintain large engines and compression equipment.  You will be required to carry out inspections, serving and repairs in accordance with manufacturer's guidelines and Occupational Health and Safety standards.  You will also perform major overhauls and reconditioning of engines and ancillary components.

Core Purpose:

We are seeking a dedicated Rotational Service Technician to join our team. This role involves providing maintenance, repairs, overhaul, diagnostics, and condition monitoring services on specialized equipment for clients in the Power Generation, Oil, and Gas Industries.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Technical Duties:
    • Perform preventative maintenance on various models of Waukesha, Caterpillar, White Superior Gas Engines, and Ariel, IR, Gemini, Nuovo Pignone Gas Compressors.
    • Conduct quality repair work, troubleshooting, and tune-ups.
    • Execute major overhauls and reconditioning of engines and compressor components.
    • Create detailed reports upon completion of maintenance work.
    • Commission new gas compression packages and/or equipment.
    • Maintain company HSE standards and report all near misses and accidents immediately.
    • Record and maintain all company-issued tools in good working order.

 

  • People and Schedule Management:
    • Liaise with workshop technicians, parts team, service team, and safety teams.
    • Plan and prioritize workload as directed by the supervisor.

Required Skills/Qualifications/Experience:

  • Mechanical trades qualification.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working on internal combustion engines.
  • Willingness to work on customer sites around Australia and international locations.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to personal development.
  • Awareness of Workplace Health & Safety, Environment, Quality & EEO legislation.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working hands-on with Waukesha or Caterpillar gas-fueled engines and compressors.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and as a team member.
  • OEM Gas Engine and Compressor training.
