Warehouse Supervisor (Operations)

Summary

Under the direction of the department Manager, the Supervisor, Warehouse Operations will provide day-to-day leadership to leads and direct reports within the fabrication warehouse. He/she is accountable for their team’s performance, specifically completing work accurately before the required dates and within the designated duration. The position will require the individual to work cross-functionally with Fabrication Leads and Planning Team to ensure priorities are understood and kits are prioritized according to committed dates. The Supervisor will monitor all work to ensure workers are performing activities according to project requirements, safely, and to the highest quality. The ability to multitask, communicate effectively, high attention to detail, and a continuous improvement mindset are a must. Individual must be a self-starter and is expected to execute tasks and goals in an effective and efficient manner, maximizing flow and throughput. Expected to lead in a manner that is consistent with and exhibits the company Vision, Values, and adherence to policies and procedures. Accountable for the safety of direct reports. 

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

  • Coordinate and supervise receiving and warehousing procedures with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ensure materials are received and posted in a timely manner. Prioritize material processing based off goods issue requirements to optimize employee work schedules.
  • Coordinate the issuance of all materials with Fabrication Supervisors/Leadmen providing timely awareness throughout the fabrication Process.
  • It is expected that he/she performs analysis of materials in conjunction with the Supply Chain to determine any necessary safety stock levels and consumption of stock material.
  • Maintain and execute inventory cycle counts utilizing the ABC analysis process to assure high inventory accuracy. Coordinate with Inventory Control Specialist to execute cycle counts.
  • Publish month-end and quarterly Goods Receipt/Goods Issue reconciliation reports and Quarterly Accrual Reports.
  • Conduct periodic and timely reconciliations to resolve material variances/backlogs within SAP.
  • Develop and maintain delete/return process to minimize excess inventory.
  • Maintain a continuous improvement mindset. Create strategic solutions to improve material flow across the entire Fabrication value stream.
  • Supervise, evaluate, and coach subordinates.
  • Addressing personnel issues in a timely and professional manner with direct reports.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED or 2-year technical diploma/vocational certificate desired.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant industrial experience.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
  • Must have knowledge of fabricating pipe spools and fabricating vessels.
  • Must be able to read and interpret all engineering drawings to efficiently perform work.
  • Proficient computer knowledge with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) and email.
  • Proficient in SAP, specifically Inventory Management or Warehouse Management.
  • Effective verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and facilitate instructions to others.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Physical Requirements

Fast-paced industrial / general office environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity. While performing duties of the job the employee will be regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, and moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud. This role will require a large amount of standing, bending, squatting, lifting, and walking on a constant basis.
