Warehouse Supervisor (Assembly)
Summary
The Supervisor, Material Control - Assembly will manage and coordinate the accurate and timely processing of inbound deliveries, to include delivery confirmation, goods receipt, put away, picking and goods issue in the support of the assembly process for our finished goods warehouse. He or she will manage the performance of receiving and warehousing personnel in their day-to-day activities to ensure prioritization, quality, and safe execution of assigned work. He or she is responsible for warehouse and transaction accuracy, as well as ensuring policies and procedures are followed with respect to SOX compliance. This position will require the individual to work cross-functionally with the Procurement, Material Coordinators, Shipping, and Assembly Leads and Supervisors, to ensure material receipts are prioritized according to plant priorities. The ability to multitask, communicate effectively, high attention to detail, and a continuous improvement mindset are a must. Individual must be a self-starter and is expected to execute tasks in an effective and efficient manner, maximizing flow and throughput. Expected to lead in a manner that is consistent with and exhibits the company Vision, Values, and adherence to policies and procedures.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide priorities and direct the daily activities of inbound delivery processing, receiving line, bolt cage, consignment, and kitting team members, ensuring safe work practices, adherence to policies and procedures, and overall accuracy and quality of product.
- Ensure materials are received and posted in a timely manner. Prioritize material processing based off goods issue requirements to optimize employee work schedules. Target is 2 days. No greater than 5 days.
- Ensure materials are picked, kitted, and issued on time, accurately, and consistent with project scheduling.
- Maintain warehouse accuracy greater than 95% through assigned cycle counts, random spot checks, and timely and accurate SAP transactions.
- Ensure policies and procedures related to SOX compliance are understood and strictly adhered to.
- Coordinate with Procurement, Material Coordinators and Assembly leadership to identify and prioritize “urgent” deliveries and will call requests.
- Maintain a continuous improvement mindset. Create strategic solutions to improve material flow across the entire Assembly value stream.
- Publish month-end goods receipt and goods issue accrual reports.
- Ensure timely disposition of PO discrepancies, leftover, excess, obsolete and fully aged materials.
- Supervise, evaluate, and coach subordinates.
- Maintain a high-functioning team, fostering a positive, safe, and respectful work environment; ensure personnel issues are addressed and documented in a timely manner.
- Other tasks as directed.
Qualifications
- 5 - 7 years minimum previous working experience in material control or related field.
- 1 - 3 years minimum supervisory experience.
- BSc/BA degree in logistics or similar relevant field.
- In depth knowledge of supply chain and inventory management systems, preferably SAP or other ERP systems.
- Hands on experience with forecasting and budgeting.
Physical Requirements
Fast-paced general office environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity. While performing duties of the job the employee will be regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, and moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud.
