Staff Accountant - Manufacturing Finance

Summary

The position will work under the direction of the Manager, Finance – Project Accounting. The Staff Accountant will manage the billing aspects of project accounting in SAP, assist in monthly recurring tasks as well as month end close tasks related to the business.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

  • Coordinate with Contract Team to set up billing plans in SAP.
  • Prepare invoices for milestones achieved and work with Project Managers, Contract team, or Operation team to obtain necessary backups to submit to clients.
  • Maintain Milestone Billing Reconciliations and assist with resolving issue(s) related to billing to customer satisfaction.
  • Update Sales Order and Billing plans when there are approved Project Change Requests (PCR).
  • Assist with Rebilling Freight Out and submit invoices to clients.
  • Prepare month end journal entries as needed.
  • Update Cost Estimates for Initial Estimate and Change Orders in SAP.
  • Perform balance sheet accounts analysis and reconciliations.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects as needed.
  • Adherence to all applicable SOX internal controls.
  • The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to those listed above.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
  • Minimum of 1 – 2 years related accounting experience.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced, multi-task environment.
  • Strong use of MS Office suite. 
  • Motivation to learn and grow within the organization.
  • Work well in a team environment & a team player.
  • SAP experience is required.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail are critical in this role.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
