Senior Supervisor, Testing

Summary

The Senior Testing Supervisor oversees the testing processes and procedures used throughout the testing department to maintain a high quality and consistent standard. He or she will be responsible to enforce all safety protocols, evaluate, and promote employee skill development, approve time, and report on productivity. Enforce work instructions and procedures and lead continuous improvement initiatives in the shop to minimize waste and reduce costs. Fine ways to improve quality and increase throughput.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

• Direct the testing team, based on Technical Specialist, and Engineering input, to efficiently test the project per Job Quality Requirements (JQR)

• Provide periodic project status updates to Management regarding assigned progress of walkdown schedules and any testing challenges that could cause a delay.

• Direct and coach team members to achieve consistency across single design multi-build projects and similar products.

• Review Assembly kickoff meeting content to gain understanding of the scope of work, seek clarifications, and provide feedback as applicable.

• Approve labor hours.

• Investigate and address any safety or compliance issues.

• Participate in the interview process, hiring process and releasing process.

• Must be a leader in a positive safety culture.

• Responsible for Coordinating work for dayshift and nightshift.

• Monitor daily operations and ensure adherence to company standards and guidelines.

• Edit and update testing department

• Interpret feedback on employee skill level vs performance from supervisor to allow for necessary adjustments and balancing amongst the team.

• Prepare for testing process by reviewing all applicable project information and deliverables produced by Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering during AKOM.

• Periodically report to Assembly Manager regarding project testing labor costs such as usage of consumable materials, actual hours vs planned hours, and overtime.

• Support Management, Senior Supervisor(s) and the planning team to achieve contingency plans and revised assembly target dates to meet customer expectations.

• Set an example of leadership for the Enerflex 5S program.

• Provide feedback to Manufacturing Engineering regarding Assembly Build Sequences (ABS), planned hours and duration.

• Manage activities with internal functional areas to support internal or external customer changes.

• Completion and sign-off of the GPS Traveler for each project.

• Coordinate with Senior Supervisors and planning team to prioritize deliveries/ material installation needed for testing.

• Enforcement of safety protocols and programs.

• Coordinate with the Manufacturing Engineering group and Senior Supervisor(s) on scheduled trade meeting events and training in a timely manner.

• Provide feedback to the Management regarding headcount requirements, resource capabilities and skill levels.

• Suggest the direct hire of contract employees based on resource demands and skill level.

• Coordinate with Technical Specialists to achieve realistic and efficient ABS plans and layouts.

• Provide feedback to other Supervisors, Manufacturing Engineers, and other team members regarding potential process improvements.

• Support input to supervisor to assign levels to employees.

• Safety – to investigate an incident or to bring awareness of incidents outside of the facility that could potentially impact the team.

• Provide direction to resolve project issues based on recommendations from Engineering.

• Approval to initiate unit testing process and procedures.

• Information related to customer delivery requirements, allowing for plant load balancing and overtime management.

• Provide clarity to any engineering deliverables or related questions related to project testing.

• Planning department to maintain accurate project and plant schedules.

Qualifications

•    5-10 years’ experience packaging natural gas equipment.
•    Supervisory and leadership experience is required.
•    Must be able to interpret engineering drawings such as P&IDs, General Arrangements, and Electrical drawings.
•    Proficient user of Microsoft Office software such as Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook.
•    Basic familiarities with ERP systems, such as SAP Project Systems (PS) and Production Planning (PP)
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•    Must be dependable, highly motivated, self-directed, have attention to detail, and have great organizational skills with a minimum amount of daily direct supervision

Physical Requirements

Fast-paced general office environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity. Domestic and international travel is possible on occasion.
