Receiving Lead - Assembly

Summary

Under the direction of the Manager, the Receiving Lead will lead and direct the day-to-day work priorities to a team of Material Handlers and Helpers. He/she is accountable for their team’s performance, specifically the timely and accurate processing in-bound materials (P&ID items, MRP and stock). In this role, the individual will ensure materials are verified upon receipt, to include Packing List to Purchase Order Receiver verification, verification of material description, characteristics, quantities, and required documentation. This position will require the individual to work cross-functionally with the Procurement, Material Coordinators, Shipping, and Assembly Leads and Supervisors, to ensure material receipts are prioritized according to Assembly and Shipping department needs. The Leadman will monitor all work to ensure workers are performing activities according to project requirements, safely, and to the highest quality. The ability to multitask, communicate effectively, high attention to detail, and a continuous improvement mindset are a must. Individual must be a self-starter and is expected to execute tasks and goals in an effective and efficient manner, maximizing flow and throughput.  Expected to lead in a manner that is consistent with and exhibits the company Vision, Values, and adherence to policies and procedures. A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

•    Coordinate with the Procurement, Material Coordinators, Assembly, Shipping, and QA/QC to ensure that all inbound deliveries are executed per the schedule, priority, and to project requirements.
•    Verification of inbound delivery; Packing List to Purchase Order Receiver.
•    Verification of material description, characteristics, quantities, and required documentation.
•    Recording of Heat Numbers/Serial Numbers on Purchase Order Receiver (where applicable). 
•    Timely posting of Goods Receipt Transaction in SAP. 
•    Maintaining and leading the 6S (5S + Safety) program in your area, ensuring that the staging (inbound and outbound material) remains organized and clean.
•    Ensuring Material Handlers and Helpers have necessary tools and materials to safely complete their tasks. 
•    Mentoring and training material handler and helpers
•    Promoting safety and safe work practices. 
•    Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

•    High School Diploma/GED or 2-year technical diploma/vocational certificate desired.
•    Minimum of 5 years’ experience in pipe or vessel material handling. 
•    Must be able to read and write in English, bilingual in Spanish a plus. 
•    Proficient computer knowledge with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) and email. 
•    Proficient in SAP, specifically Inventory Management or Warehouse Management. 
•    Proven ability to lead and facilitate instructions to others.

Physical Requirements

Fast-paced industrial / general office environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity. While performing duties of the job the employee will be regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, and moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud. This role will require a large amount of standing, bending, squatting, lifting, and walking on a constant basis.
