Quality Control Inspector - Vessels
Summary
This position will be responsible but not limited to complete quality inspection functions as required by Enerflex Quality Control Program on fabricated ASME Pressure Vessels including other miscellaneous weldments. Responsible to ensure Pressure Vessels and other applicable weldments meet all quality requirements such as applicable Codes, company standards, Engineering and Customer requirements. This position will be based at Enerflex USA Telge Fabrication facility.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
- Timely visual and dimensional inspection of ASME Vessels, & other applicable weldments.
- Ensure fabrication of various components meets the requirements of Enerflex Quality Management System, Procedures, Work Instructions, project requirements, and applicable governing Codes.
- Adhering to internal quality programs and ensuring project specifications are met.
- Verification of various NDE methods i.e., RT, UT, MT, PT.
- Assembly of quality inspection documentation.
- Timely reporting and communication
- Understanding of fabricated products, specifications, and applicable Codes.
- Mentoring other employees by training, demonstrations, discussions, etc.
- Auditing and measuring performance.
- Perform welder audits.
- Work well with Purchasing, Engineering, and Production personnel.
- Foster strong relationships with customer representatives and authorized inspectors.
- When necessary, coordinate with 3rd party inspection services, vendors, clients, etc.
- Develop Procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Technical degree or Certificate from a two-year college is preferred.
- AWS/CWI preferred.
- 5 years’ experience in the inspection of ASME Pressure Vessels is preferred.
- Proficient computer knowledge with Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, Adobe, and Outlook) is required.
- Ability to read, understand and articulate fabrication drawings, project specifications, applicable codes, weld procedures, schedules and other QA/QC documents is required.
- Strong understanding of ASME Section VIII Div. 1 and ASME sec IX.
- Ability to prioritize work in a multi-tasking environment.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines, follow up on commitments, and action.
- Strong ability to solve problems and communicate persuasively.
- Effective verbal, written and presentation skills.
- Must be self-motivated. Must be a team player.
Physical Requirements
• Fast-paced production environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity.
• Requires wearing PPE (Safety glasses, steel toe shoes, and ear plugs) while in the shop.
• May be exposed to dust and high noise levels.
• May be required to work in confined spaces, on ladders, rooftops, and in unfavorable weather conditions.
• Manual dexterity required to use inspection tools, desktop computer and peripherals.
• Overtime/Weekends as required.
• Travel may be required
