Production Control Planner
Summary
As a Production Controller, you will contribute to the success of the company by ensuring that activities remain on schedule for all phases of the assembly process through shipment while confirming and reporting actual start and completion of activities/milestones. You will play a crucial role in optimizing production operations, ensuring efficient workflows, and delivering high-quality products on time and within budget.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
Responsibility (Execution Duties)
• Monitors applicable reports and observes manufacturing operations to ensure alignment.
• Determines if production is proceeding according to schedule, analyzes causes for delay, takes corrective action, and suggests adjustments to production schedules.
• Update job progress in P6 and adjust production schedules as needed for on-time deliveries.
Accountability (What They Own)
• Accuracy and feasibility of short-term plans (1-2 weeks).
• Communicating daily deliverables with assembly and engineering resources.
• Accuracy of data entered into different planning tools, validating via reporting.
• Proactively identify situations where a project is not on schedule.
Control (Decision-Making Scope)
• Prioritization of activities when necessary.
• Coordinate process improvement opportunities.
• Suggesting improvements to assembly/material control/planning processes and reporting.
Influence (Key Partnerships)
• Planning Department – ensure alignment of activities in assembly with the schedules in IMacs/P6.
• Assembly Teams – review project status to ensure daily plans are on track.
• Material Control – understand impacts of material delays on the schedules. Coordinate equipment moves in and out of bays.
• Paint/Testing – assist with prioritizing bottlenecks.
• Engineering – coordinate walkdowns and other milestones to be completed.
Qualifications
• 2-4 years of experience in a planning-related role within a manufacturing environment. Experience with gas compression and gas processing skidded packages is a plus.
• Strong influencer with the ability to indirectly lead people.
• Strong planning, time management, multitasking and organization skills.
• Proficient with scheduling and planning tools such as SAP, Primavera P6, & Excel
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be dependable, highly motivated, self-directed, have attention to detail, and great organizational skills with minimum amount of daily direct supervision.
Physical Requirements
Fast-paced general office environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity. Domestic travel is possible on occasion.
