Post Fabrication Coordinator
Summary
Responsible for coordinating the movement of production orders through all post-fabrication activities, including Non-Destructive Examination (NDE), Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT), Hydrostatic Testing, and Painting. This role serves as a critical link between planning, spool and vessel fabrication, quality control, and post-fabrication teams, ensuring orders meet timelines without missing critical quality steps and while adhering to all safety protocols.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
- Track progress of spools, vessels, and other components through post-fabrication stages to ensure timely completion.
- Collaborate with QA/QC personnel and NDE vendors to prioritize and complete orders by required deadlines.
- Organize and stage materials to support operational efficiency in NDE, PWHT, hydrotesting, and component painting.
- Communicate priorities to forklift drivers and ensure parts are moved to the correct operation in sequence.
- Coordinate with external vendors or contractors when outsourcing PWHT, NDE, or coating services.
- Monitor inventory of supplies and materials for post-fabrication operations and alert management of restocking needs.
- Assist in preparing and submitting reports related to production status, delays, and quality concerns.
- Identify and help resolve bottlenecks or inefficiencies in the post-fabrication workflow as part of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards and company policies during post-fabrication activities.
- Support supervisors and post-fabrication leaders in coordinating manpower, resources, and schedules to complete orders on or ahead of target dates while meeting weekly KPIs.
- Work with supervisors to eliminate the constraints impacting deliverables.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in manufacturing coordination, production scheduling, or post-fabrication operations.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with production or ERP software required.
- Familiarity with fabrication processes, PWHT, NDE, and hydrotesting preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and work orders.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Physical Requirements
Industrial environment. This role will require a large amount of standing, bending, squatting, lifting, and walking on a constant basis.
