Paint Coordinator - Component Paint
Summary
The Paint Shop Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all administrative and clerical duties to ensure effective and efficient operations within the Component Paint Department. Duties include but are not limited to: maintaining digital paint log daily, updating comments within the daily WIP report, completing SAP confirmations for completed orders, maintaining paint and consumables inventory, completing project paint reports, maintaining the monthly waste log. Additional responsibilities may include, preparing, priming, and painting production orders.
The Component Paint Coordinator works with the Lead Painter to prioritize and batch work orders based on daily WIP file under the direction of the Paint Supervisor. Influences component paint processes and equipment to improve effectiveness and safety. The position is required to communicate professionally and in a timely manner with their supervisor, manager, supply chain, and material control, Finished Good’s Paint leadership, etc. Duties will be consistent with EFX company Vision, Mission, Values, and adherence to policies and procedures.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
- Monitor daily WIP file and coordinate with others to ensure deliverables are executed per the schedule and priority.
- Knowledgeable of all areas of the Paint Department such as surface preparations, Paint proper mixing ratio, DFT and WFT.
- Ability to read and understand paint specifications, and other technical documents such as paint mixing procedures.
- Maintain stock levels to ensuring all painters and blasters have all the necessary tools and materials to complete their tasks.
- Orders and maintains paint inventory according to company/customer color scheme and specifications.
- Confirming work orders in a timely fashion.
- Work with Purchasing Department and outside vendors to ensure accurate product and equipment is ordered.
- Maintain and update all commercial and technical documents.
- Take sample angle profile dimensions from each batch of blasted pipes and vessels before they are painted.
- Check all mills to ensure mills are correct for piping and vessel documentation.
- Completing all documentation related to Comp-paint, saving and or delivering the paperwork as directed to support the project needs and other departments.
- Monitor waste containers.
- Support and assist painters and helpers as needed.
- Works directly with third-party inspection on piping and vessels.
- Support daily safety meetings and lead when needed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED preferred.
- Minimum of 1 - 2 years of relevant experience in an industrial environment desired.
- Must have the ability to read and interpret instructions and documentation.
- Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information.
- Must have very effective organizational skills.
- Effective listening, written and verbal communications skills.
- Must have good typing skills and a highly proficient level of MS Word and e-mail.
- Must be able to define surface preparation and coating systems to be applied.
- Must know how to use a paint gun and pot.
- Must know how to mix paint (no runs, miss spots, sags, or drips).
- Forklift operators experience preferred.
- Work under very limited supervision.
Physical Requirements
Fast-paced manufacturing environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity.
