Manager, Engineering - Gas Processing

Department: GP Project Engineering

Summary

The Manager, Engineering is responsible for developing and executing engineering strategies for Gas Processing Engineered Systems projects. This individual will be accountable for working with engineering execution on final technical solutions that meet the customer requirements and meet cost and schedule targets.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage a team of engineers.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and make decisions balancing client needs, commercial ramifications, and schedule impact.
  • Accountable as leader for both project and engineering execution. 
  • Provide input and direction during Contract/Proposal reviews.
  • Develop, retain, and maintain the capability/capacity of the gas processing engineering team.
  • Conduct weekly meetings.
  • Provides leadership to align business units to deliver Gas Processing projects on time and within budget. 
  • Initiate engineering execution strategy / plan as part of Project Execution plan.
  • Technical design reviews of skid mounted gas processing packages.
  • Experience with Cryogenic, Amine, TEG, Stabilizer, and Screw Compression in refrigeration applications.
  • Provide leadership to other internal teams to ensure objectives align with engineering execution.
  • Support international projects and business as required.
  • Provide direction to the engineering organization so streamlined technical information successfully transfers during turnkey project support.
  • Accountable for project execution of the Gas Processing project portfolio.
  • Facilitate Gas Processing training as required.
  • Identify and help resolve Gas Processing engineering issues related to higher specification packages.
  • Facilitate lessons learned discussions within GP engineering, Quality, and Operations. 
  • Provide direction during Contract/Proposal review (Technical)for projects as needed.
  • Experienced in all applicable industry codes related to skid mounted equipment, ASME, ANSI, API, etc.
  • Development/Improvement of standards and procedures to streamline engineering and design processes.
  • Interface with all stake holders internal / external and attend meetings with customer as required.
  • Meet with vendors as required to expedite engineering deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least ten (10) years engineering management experience. 
  • Strong preference for previous oil & gas experience
  • Strong self starter skills and ability to perform successfully with limited supervision.
  • Ability to manage complex operations and establish clear goals and accountabilities to ensure successful delivery (on time, within budget, meeting agreed upon success criteria)
  • Knowledge of legal terminology and language related to supplier agreements and contracts
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and the ability to work closely in a team environment with all internal / external stakeholders.
  • Entrepreneurial attitude, aptitude for innovation and long-term career interests.

Physical Requirements

Fast-paced general office environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity. Domestic and international travel up to 15% of the time.
