Intern - Manufacturing Engineering

Summary

The Enerflex internship offers students a paid opportunity to work in an environment that fosters real-life experiences, explores career options, and applies your education. You will become a part of key management meetings and participate in meaningful projects. Our goal is to create a working environment that not only fosters creativity but also promotes equality, diversity, mutual respect, and productivity. Our summer internships are typically 10-12 weeks. Currently, we are only considering undergraduate students who have completed a minimum of 30 hours of coursework.

This internship will be based in Houston, TX. You will have exposure and the opportunity to broaden your skills through impactful work, mentored relationships, and gain real-world exposure to different projects on the Enerflex team.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

Under the supervision of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the successful candidate can expect to:

  • Analyze, modify, and present data from MS Excel spreadsheets used for manufacturing performance indicators
  • Conduct time studies and lead improvement projects focused on manufacturing processes
  • Support the Technical Specialist with technical document creation and trade meeting preparation
  • Write, format, edit, and update instructions and procedures to be used by manufacturing
  • Assist manufacturing engineers in creating and publishing Assembly Build Plans

Other Responsibilities:

  • Supports the assembly process for new packages in multiple departments
  • Assist the Technical Specialist in trade-specific unit inspections
  • Update and perform maintenance on Excel-based tools

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two (2) years of college coursework completed in an industrial, mechanical, process, electrical, or chemical engineering field.
  • Sophomore credit equivalency (30-59 hours) with a GPA of 3.2 or higher required.
  • Must be dependable, highly motivated, and self-directed.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to learn and work in a team environment.
  • Proactive thinker and self-motivated.
  • Strong time, project, and organizational management skills.
  • The ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to live and commute in the Houston metro area without housing assistance.
