Instrument Fitter

Summary

Responsible for installing, servicing and repairing of pneumatic and hydraulic equipment: consistently work to meet customer specification in a neat timely and accurate manner, excellent communications skills.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

Read and interpret P&ID, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams to perform installation.
Lay out, measure and bend tubing base on the specifications of the drawing to fit the design packages insuring a safe and functional system.
Able to understand customer’s requirements in a short time and present solutions that meet their needs.
Measures, cuts, assembles tubing tray and support systems.
Installing tubing and clamps into tubing tray systems.
Measures, cuts, ream, bends, assemble and install single line and group of tubing.
Proficient in the use of tools of the trade.
Able to recognize and avoid safety hazards and dangers.
All above functions performed with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED desired.
• Ability to read and interpret P&ID, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams to perform installation.
• Ability to lay out, measure and bend tubing base on the specifications of the drawing to fit the design packages insuring a safe and functional system.
• Must be able to understand customer’s requirements in a short time and present solutions that meet their needs.
• Knowledge of various pneumatic and hydraulics systems.
• All above functions performed with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements

Industrial environment. This role will require a large amount of standing, bending, squatting, lifting and walking on a constant basis. May be required to lift, carry and move up to 50 lbs. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity.
