Heavy Equipment Dispatch Lead

Summary

The Dispatch Lead will direct forklift operations provided in support of plant assembly operations, to include Heavy Forklift moves, general forklift operations, and Spotter support. The Dispatch Lead is responsible for coordinating planning and operations leadership to understand and assign priorities of forklift support identified in the Daily Production Plan. The Dispatch Lead is expected to meet with assembly leadership to understand, and deconflict, the timing of heavy equipment moves and the flow of materials into and out of the bays. All forklift support will be requested directly to, and scheduled by, the Dispatch Lead, who will prioritize and communicate with the forklift operators. The Dispatch Lead is expected to track which moves occurred each day, as well as when the moves start and complete. To be successful, this individual needs to understand the assembly build sequence for various Midstream Natural Gas Packaged Equipment. The ability to effectively communicate and collaborate cross functionally is a must; must be detail oriented and able to multitask. 

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

  • Direct daily forklift and spotter operations in support of assembly operations.
  • Coordinate with Assembly operations leadership and Planning Team to prioritize heavy equipment moves in support of assembly operations and finished goods paint.
  • Coordinate with Assembly Supervisors and Material Coordinators to prioritize the flow of materials into and out of assembly bays.
  • Maintain daily dispatch log of forklift moves and Daily Forklift Inspection Forms.
  • Responsible for training and qualifying forklift spotters.
  • Schedule preventative maintenance and calibration of forklifts and equipment, to include skates, booms, and slings.
  • Generate work orders for any forklift and equipment requiring corrective maintenance/repair; to include skates, booms, and slings.
  • As needed, coordinate Heavy Forklift support to inbound and outbound equipment deliveries.
  • Report any incidents resulting from forklift operations to include damage to property, material, or injury to employees.
  • Exhibit a code of professional behavior and business ethics aligned with the Enerflex Values and Code of Conduct. 

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years of technical experience in manufacturing operations, preferably at least 3-5 years with gas compression and processing equipment.
  • Must possess understanding of Midstream Natural Gas Equipment packaging and assembly. 
  • Must have solid communication skills, both written and verbal, to clearly communicate priorities to forklift operators and assembly operations leadership.
  • Prior experience in dispatching operations is preferred.
  • Must be familiar with preventative and corrective maintenance processes.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Experience with SAP preferred.
  • Overtime may be required based on business needs and operational load.

Physical Requirements

Fast-paced general office environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity. While performing duties of the job the employee will be regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, and moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud.
