HR Generalist

Summary

The HR Generalist supports core HR functions across the employee lifecycle and plays a key role in day-to-day operations, with a focus on payroll, onboarding, and HR data integrity, while tracking metrics and supporting cross-functional projects in a growing organization. This role partners with leadership and employees to ensure compliance, maintain accurate HR data, and deliver efficient, high-quality HR services.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

  • Evaluate and improve HR processes, systems, and controls to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and overall effectiveness of the HR function
  • Serves as a direct point of contact for employees on benefits, payroll, and other HR policies and issues related compliance.
  • Lead and manage the full-cycle onboarding process, ensuring a seamless employee experience and compliance with all documentation requirements
  • Ensure completion of required employment forms and compliance documentation for new hires
  • Oversee offboarding and termination processes, ensuring consistency, compliance, and appropriate documentation
  • Maintain accurate and organized employee files and HR documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Provide payroll support as needed, including reviewing timesheets, processing payroll, and responding to employee payroll questions.
  • Manage daily operations and provide support of group benefits programs, including health insurance, 401(k) plans, and wellness programs.
  • Process benefits enrollments, changes, and terminations; coordinate with vendors and resolve eligibility/deduction discrepancies.
  • Respond to state unemployment inquiries and complete necessary documentation.
  • Conduct HR audits and generate reports to ensure SOx compliance and data accuracy
  • Develop, track, and analyze HR metrics and KPIs; provide insights and recommendations to support business decisions
  • Assist the HR team with special projects, process improvements, and additional operational needs as the company continues to grow
  • Participate in HR projects focused on process improvement, retention, and employee experience

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent professional experience required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  •  3–5 years of progressive Human Resources experience
  • Demonstrated experience supporting payroll administration, with the ability to independently review, analyze, and resolve payroll-related issues
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (e.g., ADP, SAP SuccessFactors, Workforce) preferred
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Exercises sound judgment and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and recommend effective solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing business needs, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to partner across all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and compliance
  • Ability to interpret policies, apply consistent practices, and support fair and compliant outcomes

Physical Requirements

Fast-paced general office environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity. Domestic and international travel is possible on occasion.
