Fabrication Helper

Summary

In this entry level role, the Fabrication Helper works under immediate supervision. The Fabrication Helper is responsible for assisting the shop Lead’s with the preparation of materials and material workflow of the shop. Additional responsibilities may include general housekeeping and a variety of projects that may be assigned.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

•   Shall assist in lifting, positioning, and securing of materials during installation onto positioners/worktables.
•   Cleaning of fittings (elbows, flanges, tees, pipe, ext.)
•   Kitting of materials for ISOMETRIC drawings
•   Check and record all heat numbers for fittings when required.
•   Feeding the fitters/welders work pieces as needed.
•   Transporting the completed work piece to its next designated station/area (fitter station, welder station, pallets, ext.)
•   Installs flange covers on completed spools placed on pallets prior to leaving the shop.
•   Plug ISO’s that DO NOT require HYDRO testing prior to leaving the shop.
•   Load, transports and unload material, tools, equipment, and supplies.
•   Clean work area and restock supplies and materials, as necessary.
•   Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules.
•   Area of work will remain clean and orderly, aligning with our 5S program.
•   EE must align with EFX visions and values.
•   Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

•   Has some degree of general knowledge of all aspects of Pipe/Vessel Fabrication
•   High School Diploma/GED desired
•   Minimum of 0 – 1 year of relevant fabrication experience required.
•   Must be able to read a standard measuring tape and a square.
•   Basic knowledge of piping materials (materials grade, schedule, fittings, ext.)
•   Must have experience with power tools, pneumatic tools, band saws, bevel machines, threading machines, plasma cutter, torch, and overhead cranes.
•   Requires oversight and relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
•   Primary functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment.
•   Works under immediate supervision.

Physical Requirements

Industrial environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity.
