Engineering Technician

Summary

In accordance with the goals and initiatives set forth by the Company and Engineering Department, the Engineer Tech will assist with coordinating and performing the activities related to project engineering efforts.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

The Engineer Tech will work under the direction of the Engineering Manager or his/her designate on tasks that include, but are not limited to the following:

Review project scope and customer specs ahead of Kickoff.
Create and maintain standard project Document Submittal list (VRDL)
Monitor and report on engineering hours and schedule adherence on projects.
Review Turn-In and PO for accuracy and costing to identify issues early.
Provide initial vessel and line sizing and P&ID markups to Design Team to start model.
Complete and submit project pipe specs
Verify acoustical recommendations are correct and release Engineering study POs
Assist PEs in execution tasks such as creating BOMs, reviewing drawings, conducting walkdowns, creating manuals, producing datasheets, etc.

Qualifications

Mechanical or equivalent engineering degree or 10 yrs of industry experience
Recip compression experience preferred
Exposure to the oil & gas industry would be beneficial
Engineering software familiarity (Ariel, Flexware, Hysys, Primavera)
Self-motivated
Excellent Microsoft Office skills
Ability to manage time effectively
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Foundational understanding of the following engineering principles used in our products:

- Mechanical Design
- Thermodynamics
- Chemical Processing
- Instrumentation & Controls

Interpersonal skills
Professional attitude
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Physical Requirements

Fast-paced general office environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity.
Domestic and international travel is possible on occasion.
May be exposed to confidential information.
May be required to work non-standard hours including evenings and weekends.
