Director, Integrated Projects and Engineering Services

Summary

 The Director of Integrated Projects & Engineering Services (IP&ES) is accountable for the successful execution of complex, multi-product, and special projects, as well as the delivery of centralized engineering services across Enerflex’s product lines. This role will lead the Integrated Projects team, manage high-spec and international projects, and oversee shared engineering functions such as Electrical & Instrumentation, Vessels, Systems, and Document Control. The Director will ensure projects meet scope, schedule, margin, and quality expectations, while driving innovation, standardization, and cross-functional alignment in a matrixed environment.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

• Lead the execution of integrated (multi-product) projects and special projects, ensuring contractual scope, schedule, budget, and quality are achieved.

• Provide centralized engineering services to all product lines, optimizing resource allocation across E&I, Vessels, Systems, and Document Control teams.

• Oversee the preparation, review, and execution of FEED studies, Balance-of-Plant engineering, and other specialized technical scopes.

• Chair the Telge Project Manager Committee, meeting quarterly to align project management best practices across departments.

• Collaborate with Product Leaders, Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure project alignment with business objectives.

• Protect and enhance project margins through effective scope change management and cost control.

• Monitor KPIs including margin performance, delivery timelines, quality metrics, and customer satisfaction.

• Identify and implement process improvements to drive standardization, efficiency, and cost savings.

• Serve as escalation point for integrated project challenges, resolving execution issues and removing roadblocks.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and vendors for multi-product and high-value projects.

• Mentor and develop the IP&ES team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

• Support technical proposal development for integrated and special project opportunities.

• Travel to customer sites, fabrication facilities, and project locations as required for execution oversight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.

• 10+ years of project management and engineering management experience in the energy, gas processing, or related industries.

• Proven leadership of complex EPC or multi-product projects, including international and high-spec applications.

• Demonstrated success in managing engineering teams and shared technical services in a matrix environment.

• Strong knowledge of applicable codes, industry standards, and safety regulations.

• Experience with FEED studies, BOP engineering, and integrated project delivery.

• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional collaboration.

• Track record of margin improvement and delivery of projects on time and within budget.

Physical Requirements

• Fast-paced office environment with frequent interaction across multiple departments.

• Domestic and international travel up to 20%.

• High degree of time sensitivity and decision-making accountability.
