Designer - Support (Manufacturing Engineering)

Summary

This position works closely with the Technical Specialists and Manufacturing Engineers to support the standardization of manufacturing processes: Leverages understanding of design methods, software, and CAD infrastructure as needed for the improvement of manufacturing processes, expansion of material management through CAD generated BOMS, and the development of manufacturing specific detail drawings.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

Assigned Control

  • Collaborate with Technical Specialists to integrate tray and conduit layouts into CAD models.
  • Build relationships with project designers to ensure completeness of project deliverables. 
  • Work with Support Design Lead and Manufacturing Engineers to ensure project deliverables are completed on schedule.

Accountable

  • Ensure layouts are properly supported and align with EFX standards. 
  • Create Disassembly and Reassembly skid model drawings.
  • Ensure BOM’s are accurate and released with drawings.
  • Create Daily Build Plans for specific projects which align with Assembly Build Sequence planning.  
  • Layer models and create spools priority lists to drive fabrication priorities. 
  • Create 3D CAD Models and Detailed Drawings for auxiliary components as needed; Pipe Supports, Clamps, Belt Guards, and Coupling Guards, etc. 
  • Support Development of Training Documentation for production personnel

Influence

  • Review projects on the floor and gather feedback through interaction with shop employees.
  • Continually support Production Leadership Team on Standards with an eye towards reducing costs
  • Participate in Integration of Standards to CAD system including data points such as, Labor Standards, Measurable Performance Indicators, and Bills of Materials
  • Collaborate with Team Lead to support ME design standards & cross departmental training of standards.

Support

  • Attend periodic Gas Processing and Compression design training and/or lessons learned.
  • Attend assembly trade training meetings to better understand trade work scope

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience with CADWorx Plant and AutoCAD 2D/3D Modeling, and ISO diagrams.
  • Experience with CADWorx Plant EDGE preferred. 
  • Must be experienced with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Minimum 2 years of related work experience
  • Understanding of and commitment to continuous improvement methods
  • Highly developed time management, planning, and organizational skills
  • Highly developed personal communication skills: ability to communicate and collaborate effectively.

Physical Requirements

Fast-paced general office and manufacturing shop environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity. Domestic and international travel is possible on occasion.
