Cut Lead (Night Shift)

Summary

The primary role of the Cut Lead is to oversee and coordinate your deliverable to the Spool/Vessel Shop Supervisors. The Cut Lead will be but not limited to delivering your piece of the build on time and on budget, maintain the highest quality standards and design criteria, and to also maintain the highest safety standards possible. This role is to assist Spool/Vessel Shop Supervisors with job coordinating hour adherence and schedule adherence. Candidate must have an excellent safety record, impeccable attendance, and 3 to 5 years’ related experience. Duties will be consistent with EFX company Vision, Mission, Values, and adherence to policies and procedures. 

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

  • Verify  pipe  to make sure the quantity and the descriptions are correct.
  • Report any schedule deviations to Senior Supervisor and Spool/Vessel Shop Supervisors.
  • Ensure all heat numbers for all current jobs are correct.
  • Work with Quality Control on approved material or rejected material.
  • Notify QC of any discrepancies with materials.
  • Flag any conflicts or concerns pertaining to scope, labor hours, material, or timelines.
  • Ensure the product is free of debris, clean and safe prior to handing the unit over to the next operation.
  • Review and scrutinize all the time being applied to the project. Ensure overtime is reviewed and approved by the Manager.
  • It will be required to perform all Safety responsibilities in your area in accordance with the EFX and Regulatory requirements of a Leader.
  • This position will be required to maintain and drive the 6S program in your area.
  • Perform additional assignments per Supervisor's direction.
  • Support a spirit of cooperation within and between departments in support of organizational priorities.
  • Mentoring and training new Employees
  • Confirming work-orders in a timely manner fashion for cut department
  • Addressing personnel issues in a timely manner with direct reports in a professional manner; including but not limited to performance, attendance, tardiness, attitude, bullying, productivity, work habits, etc. under the guidance of the Supervisor. 

Qualifications

  • Candidate must be able to read a standard tape measure.
  • Candidate must be familiar with isometric and pressure vessel drawings.
  • Candidate must have experience with power tools, pneumatic tools, band saws, plasma cutter, and overhead cranes.
  • Candidate must be able to read and write in English.
  • Bilingual is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings.
  • Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming
  • A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach
  • Good communication abilities
  • A successfully completed apprenticeship is required.

Fast-paced production environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity.
