Contracts Engineer

Summary

Working closely with the Contracts Manager, this role is an integral part of the contracts management team, providing support to, and working with all parts of the business, including the sales, engineering, and production and project teams, plus other business management.  Sales, applications engineering, and/or project management experience is preferred.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

  • Major emphasis on completing project profitability forecasts in conjunction with the Contracts Manager, operational teams, and finance team. 
  • Perform detailed analysis of job cost information for projects and investigate variances with project group as needed.
  • Monitor change order status of projects as identified by project group.
  • Participate in weekly engineering meetings for active projects as needed.
  • Utilizes Enerflex ERP system to verify project material and labor costs for forecasting purposes.
  • Assist in setting up new projects in the Enerflex ERP system.
  • Assist in maintaining contract files for all purchase orders received for new equipment.
  • Assist in monitoring key metrics, processes and procedures including maintaining the logging system for key project dates and milestones.
  • Assist in timely invoicing to customer on project milestone events and review for accuracy.
  • Utilize Enerflex ERP system to verify project milestone events for invoicing purposes.
  • Help ensure compliance with Enerflex corporate governance requirements related to new equipment projects.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a university engineering degree or technical diploma supported by accounting or contracts training with a minimum of 5 years' experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing industry is an asset; within the gas compression and processing market is preferred.
  • Background in sales, applications engineering, and/or project management desirable.
  • Demonstrated customer service expertise.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience with SAP is an asset.
  • Communication skills are fundamental (both written and verbal) as the role will have significant interaction & collaboration with multiple departments.
  • Work well in a team environment & a team player.
  • Strong motivation, work ethic, organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.

Physical Requirements

Fast-paced general office environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity. Domestic and international travel is possible on occasion.
