Compression Applications Engineeer - ROW

Summary

The primary responsibilities of this position include conceptual engineering, cost estimating and proposal generation for natural gas compression and processing equipment, while keeping in mind the full solution and winning strategy. This position is a key member of the Rest of World (ROW) Applications team responsible for supporting the sales of compression and gas treating and processing equipment for the International and Latin America Regions. This position will focus on Recip Compression Applications. A positive attitude combined with strong communication and technical skills are necessary for success in this role.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

  • Interpret customer needs and project specifications to develop optimized solutions.
  • Prepare system process simulations, and design, size and select suitable equipment.
  • Generate cost and schedule estimates, and evaluate design fit.
  • Prepare written technical and commercial proposals, including drawings and diagrams.
  • Develop preliminary execution plans, including evaluation of suppliers, internal resource requirements, and customer constraints.
  • Actively seek and support continuous improvement in performance of all duties.
  • Maintain supplier, client, and stakeholder relationships. Participate in client clarification meetings.
  • Interface with all operational departments within the company.
  • Maintain knowledge of codes and standards applicable to products in the global market.
  • Duties must be performed consistent with the company mission and values.
  • Abide by and promote Enerflex’s HSE policy.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Chemical, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical degree.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience (Recip Compressor, Applications, Estimating)
  • Experience with design of natural gas compression, processing, or treating equipment.
  • Track record of successfully researching and resolving technical problems.
  • Willing to continuously and proactively collaborate, share, and seek guidance through open dialogue.
  • Exemplifies a positive attitude and demonstrates curiosity, diligence, patience, and reliability. Organized with attention to detail.
  • Communication skills including interpreting and summarizing information, and technical writing.
  • Knowledge of API, GPA, ASME, ANSI, NACE and other applicable codes.
  • Working knowledge of international market place is a plus.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus. 

Physical Requirements

  • Occasionally required to work non-standard hours including evenings and weekends if required to comply with deadlines.
  • Domestic and International travel may be required.
  • Working under pressure and with short deadlines.
