Business Reporting Analyst
Summary
The Reporting Analyst will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and supporting of business intelligence, analysis and reporting solutions. This team member will be responsible for data modeling and developing reporting solutions in a Microsoft tools environment, primarily Power BI, and they will be responsible for adhering to current reporting procedures and techniques. In support of these responsibilities, they will meet with business users and management to create requirement documents to support the business needs, and technical documentation surrounding solutions developed.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
- Working with key business users and department managers to understand current business requirements for analysis and report development
- Documenting business and functional requirements for identified opportunities
- Developing and deploying Power BI data models for use in reports and dashboards
- Creating visualizations and drill down scenarios through analysis of data in Power BI
- Validation testing to ensure solutions are meeting the documented business requirements
- Providing purposeful, accurate, and timely analyses to business users
- Working with business users and business analysts to ensure data standards that impact reporting, for both master data and transactional data, are maintained and followed.
- Seeking areas of improvement across various functional areas of the business.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a Business or Technical discipline
- 1-2 years of relevant experience, including internships or co-op experience
- Knowledge of SQL, VBA, and various SAP modules
- Proven proficiency in Microsoft Power BI and Excel
- Experience with SQL, DAX, and VBA programming languages
- Strong analytical mindset with a willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment
- Entrepreneurial nature, with energy and drive for results
- Effective time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- High accountability by nature, proven overall dependability, reliability, and responsibility
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to articulate complex business requirements and train business users
