Bill of Material Coordinator
Summary
The BOM Coordinator acts as a liaison between Engineering and Design to ensure all materials adhere to EFX standards. The individual loads the BOM into the system of choice to allow for requisitions or planned orders to be created and support the manufacturing process. The BOM Coordinator will setup and maintain materials in SAP Material Master to allow accurate data to be visible to all end users.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
- Create new and revised part numbers within SAP for all EFX departments following EFX Standards.
- Maintain and manage the integrity of SAP Parts Database, including PIR, Source list and lead times
- Primary Liaison between Engineering, Design, Warehouse, Applications, Vendors and Buyers as it relates to Parts Management
- Responsible to identify areas to improve in our Parts Information process
- Development of comprehensive parts information rules and policies
- Provide measurement to management on the effectiveness of the SAP Parts Database
- Support, instruct and train applicable personnel in the addition, revision and obsolescence of parts
- Review and correct all Bill of Materials developed for all projects. Through the Designer, compare the drawings to the Bill of Materials and make corrections on one or both.
- Create standard product structures that can be easily recalled and issued for standard units.
- Develop systems that both to reduce the work required to produce a compressor package of a standard design and to promote uniformity in EFX's line of compressor packages.
- Work with Designers, Project Managers and Project Engineers to review and verify that the standard and/or custom specifications are to be followed and noting any exceptions to standards
- Issue requisitions to inventory control to obtain correct materials to replace materials brought to the assembly floor and found to be incorrect, or to obtain missing materials not covered by the shortage list.
- Use software to enter and modify the Bill of Materials, set up custom items for the purchasing of engineered items
- Review and streamline the standard part numbering systems and correct standard part numbers for accuracy and clarification.
Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience with SAP or similar ERP software maintaining and setting up master data.
- Experience in setting up Classifications and Characteristics.
- Skills to develop a thorough comprehension of the EFX Standard specifications for all aspects of the Design phase.
- Must be familiar with part numbering and Master Data requirements.
- Experience in database development, implementation, and management.
- Exceptional understanding of business requirements and processes.
- Ability to act as a liaison between cross-functional business groups.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to assess workload and prioritize accordingly.
- Understanding of Bill of Material structure and the impact on parts information.
- Understanding of parts and drawing revision controls and impacts.
- Must be dependable, highly motivated, self-directed, attention to detail, and great organizational skills with a minimum amount of direct supervision.
- Exceptional computer skills, proficiency with SAP, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

Fast-paced general office environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity. Domestic and international travel is possible on occasion.
