Assistant Supervisor - Pressure Test

Summary

The Assistant Pressure Test Supervisor coordinates the daily activities for all pressure testing responsibilities within the team for each assigned project. The Assistant Pressure Test Supervisor supports the Testing Supervisor regarding team development, time approval, and productivity. Ensures assigned deliverables are completed per project schedules. Focused on the completion of testing work accurately, within budget, and to a high-quality standard. When absent, acts as the primary backup to the Testing Supervisor.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

  • Direct pressure testing operations per project drawings and procedures, incorporating input from Engineering and Specialists.
  • Assist the Testing Supervisor with planning weekly workloads, approving labor hours in their absence, and coordinating resource needs based on demand.
  • Monitor team skills and provide coaching to ensure consistency across multi-build and similar design projects.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Assembly, Planning, Manufacturing Engineering, and Material Control to adjust schedules, address material needs, and resolve project issues.
  • Recommend headcount adjustments and support the hiring of contract employees when necessary.
  • Provide accurate feedback on testing durations and planned hours, and suggest process improvements.
  • Ensure GPS Traveler documentation is completed and signed off.
  • Support safety programs (AWARE Cards, Take5, JSA/JRA) and act as a safety leader. Promote 5S principles and participate in training coordination.
  • Communicate customer pressure testing requirements to support scheduling and overtime planning.
  • Assist with incident investigations and ensure compliance with safety standards and engineering deliverables.

Qualifications

  • 3- 5 years’ experience pressure testing packaging natural gas equipment.
  • Leadership experience is preferred.
  • Must be able to interpret engineering drawings such as P&IDs, General Arrangements, and Electrical drawings.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office software such as Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Basic familiarities with ERP systems, such as SAP Project Systems (PS) and Production Planning (PP)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be dependable, highly motivated, self-directed, have attention to detail, and have great organizational skills with a minimum amount of daily direct supervision.
