Accounts Payable Administrator
Summary
The Accounts Payable Administrator is responsible for providing financial and administrative support in order to ensure effective, efficient, and accurate financial and administrative operation within the Accounting Department.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
- Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; verifying federal id numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments.
- Pays employees by receiving and verifying expense reports and requests for advances, preparing checks.
- Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
- Maintains historical records by microfilming and filing documents.
- Disburses petty cash by recording entry, verifying documentation.
- Reports sales taxes by calculating requirements on paid invoices.
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Assist all related departments in enhancing existing reporting and process/systems to improve reporting and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Vocational/post-secondary certification or diploma program.
- Minimum of 2 – 4 years’ related work experience; accounts payable or general accounting experience; oil and gas industry experience is preferred.
- Strong proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel
- SAP experience is required.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management, organization, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
Physical Requirements
Fast-paced general office environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity.
