Field Service Technician - Rotator
Summary
Reporting to the Service Manager, the role of the Field Technician includes, but is not limited to operating a field service truck to complete day-to-day field maintenance services, complete warranty repairs in addition to troubleshooting equipment performance issues and perform overhauls on natural gas equipment including engines, compressors and other related equipment at customer site locations.
We seek a candidate who has a core foundation of integrity and is willing and able to use commitment and creativity to drive our organization towards success.
This position will be a Rotator with a Shift Schedule 14 days on / 14 days off, based at a camp 1.5 hours outside of Fort St. John, British Columbia.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
- Working on medium to large stationary natural gas equipment: including but not limited to, engines, compressors (reciprocating, screw), pumps, valves, coolers, panels, generator packages and related machinery.
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections.
- Perform all aspects of repairs and overhauls within established time guidelines.
- Troubleshoot machinery / equipment malfunctions using high attention to detail and experience to solution the problem.
- Working with a team to provide installation and commissioning of new packages.
- Supervise the maintenance and installation of packages as required.
- Collaborate with Service Manager on repair strategies to accurately inform customer quotes.
- Mentor apprentices and support other technicians through information sharing and knowledge transfer.
- Maintain and develop positive professional relationships with existing and potential internal and external customers.
- Participate in internal and external training courses as an opportunity for career growth and development.
- All work is to be performed in a safe manner and in accordance with the company HSE policies.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year field service work experience.
- Valid Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic, Natural Gas Compression, Automotive, or Millwright Certificate.
- Valid driver’s license with the ability and willingness to drive long distances.
- Ability to lead, direct, motivate and supervise team members.
- Possess a well-rounded knowledge of engine, generator, and compressor performance and operations; experience with Jenbacher, Waukesha, and Cat considered an asset.
- Highly motivated and well organized.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Clean drivers abstract must be provided at time of hire.
- Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment health assessment including a drug and alcohol test.
