Mechanical Technician
Summary
The purpose of this position is to service and maintain large engines and compression equipment. You will be required to carry out inspections, serving and repairs in accordance with manufacturer's guidelines and Occupational Health and Safety standards. You will also perform major overhauls and reconditioning of engines and ancillary components.

Core Purpose: As a highly skilled Mechanical Technician based in our Eagle Farm Workshop, You will be responsible for a wide range of mechanical tasks including equipment maintenance, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation and reliability of mechanical equipment used in the oil and gas industry.
Level B:

Perform tasks requiring in-depth skill or knowledge, including alignment techniques, fault finding, and basic re-installation and commissioning of overhauled engines.

Provide guidance and leadership to others, manage work crews, and complete most tasks unsupervised.

Demonstrate initiative and supervise employees at or below Level B.
Level A:
-
Exhibit superior diagnostic skills and complete Enerflex-recognised training in installation and commissioning of new equipment.

Conduct failure analytics and manage a team of technicians.

Apply a broad range of skills to non-routine but predictable situations.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Perform preventative maintenance on various models of Waukesha, Caterpillar, and White Superior gas engines and Ariel, IR, Gemini, Nuovo Pignone, and other gas compressors.

Install, assemble, and test mechanical components and systems per engineering specifications.

Conduct preventative maintenance and troubleshoot equipment to resolve mechanical issues.

Inspect and test equipment to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Repair and replace faulty parts or components to maintain machinery functionality.

Collaborate with engineers and team members to improve equipment performance.

Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.

Document work performed, equipment status, and maintenance activities
Required Skills/Qualifications:

Mechanical trade qualification and post-trade certification or equivalent in-plant/on-the-job experience.

Proven experience in equipment maintenance, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and lead teams.

For Level A: Demonstrated expertise in diagnostics, failure analytics, and commissioning of new equipment

Awareness of Workplace Health & Safety, Environment, Quality & EEO legislation.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

Previous experience working hands-on with Waukesha or Caterpillar gas-fueled engines and compressors.

Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.

OEM Gas Engine and Compressor training.
