Skids and Systems Lead Hand

Summary

Reporting directly to the Systems Supervisor, the purpose of a Skids/Systems Lead Hand includes, but is not limited to, monitoring job progress and employees within work area as well as ensuring packages are assembled to Enerflex standards and ensure adherence to all Enerflex’s Health and Safety policies.

 

The Skids/Systems Lead hand would be required to work closely with various Production lead hands, department Supervisors and Project Supervisors on a day-to-day basis. Duties must be performed consistent with company Vision, Mission and Values while ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. Effective and consistent communication is an important requirement of this role. 

 

With a foundation of integrity, the candidate would use commitment and creativity to drive our organization forward. This position is based out of Enerflex’s Calgary South East facility.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

  • Ensure all employees are working safely and producing quality product while adhering to health and safety policies
  • Lead daily toolbox meetings and issue and enforce the completion and posting of Pre-Job Hazard Assessments (PJHA’s) by direct reports
  • Ensure employees are swiped into correct jobs and steps to ensure accurate time keeping
  • Work with tight timelines while limiting overtime to achieve customer delivery schedules
  • Managing IMACS Systems hours vs Estimate for assigned packages
  • Perform ongoing inspection of all assigned packages to ensure quality is to Enerflex standards
  • Managing material flow for assigned packages
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization in work area and on assigned packages 
  • Support and drive a culture of continuous improvement
  • Report incidents/accidents and complete paperwork within required timelines
  • Communicate with fellow Lead hands and Supervisors within the Production Department
  • Develop new methods to improve/streamline manufacturing processes
  • Report problems regarding workload/manpower to Systems Supervisor
  • Report missing, late, sick or injured employees to Systems Supervisor, as well as inform the Supervisor when disciplinary action is required
  • Ensure employees are informed of all meetings and attend accordingly
  • Periodically lead Production Meetings and attend meetings on behalf of the Systems Supervisor as required
  • Maintain individual project GPS binders for current drawing revision, timely task completion, sign off and overall condition

Qualifications

  • Possess a valid Alberta Journeymen Certificate with Interprovincial Red Sealed Journeyman
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the manufacturing of gas compressors
  • Possess sound planning and organization skills
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and proven leadership qualities
  • Dependable, reliable, with proven attendance record
  • Ability to work overtime or shift work as required
  • Results oriented and a team player
