Senior Communications Advisor
Summary
Enerflex is seeking a highly skilled Senior Communications Advisor to join our Global Marketing and Stakeholder Relations team. Working in partnership with the Vice President, Marketing & Stakeholder Relations and the Global Manager, Marketing, this role is a key contributor to the development and execution of strategic communications.
The Senior Communications Advisor will help shape and implement our global internal communications strategy, drive high‑impact initiatives, and produce compelling, audience‑focused content. This is both a strategic and hands‑on role—ideal for a seasoned communicator who excels at long-term planning while also delivering polished, effective outputs.
This position is based out of our downtown Calgary, Alberta office.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
As part of the Global Marketing and Stakeholder Relations team, you will collaborate closely with regional and corporate leaders to deliver meaningful, measurable communications outcomes. You will combine creativity with operational excellence, and are energized by bringing ideas to life in a global, fast‑paced environment.
The successful candidate will:
- Drive major internal communication and campaign projects from strategy through execution, working collaboratively with Marketing to ensure alignment across global audiences.
- Develop, write, edit, and publish high‑quality, original content tailored to key stakeholders, including employees, external stakeholders, the community).
- Create and distribute internal communications and develop engaging content for the corporate intranet.
- Produce a variety of communication materials, including presentations, internal video messaging, articles, recognition content, and organizational announcements—often for translation into multiple languages.
- Support Marketing with content development for external channels (e.g., website, social media) and maintain consistent brand voice and tone.
- Ensure message alignment and support brand governance, working closely with the Marketing team to elevate the company’s communications presence.
- Manage Enerflex’s crisis communications framework, including preparedness, guidance, and content support during critical events.
- Provide strategic counsel on communication planning, employee engagement, and change management initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field, or a similar combination of experience and education
- 15+ years of progressive experience in communications, public relations, or an equivalent discipline.
- Deep knowledge of communication, public relations, and marketing principles and best practices.
- Exceptional written and verbal communications skills, with demonstrated editorial excellence.
- Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Demonstrated ability to support and influence strategic communications for critical business initiatives.
- A self‑starter with strong leadership, time‑management, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent presentation skills, enabling confident interaction with leadership and project teams.
- A continuous improvement mindset, with a flexible and pragmatic approach to working both collaboratively and independently.
- A curious, strategic thinker with outstanding storytelling skills and experience developing communication plans, toolkits, presentations, and other corporate materials.
- Success in this role relies on a strong, collaborative relationship with the Marketing team, ensuring communications activities move forward with shared clarity, consistency, and impact.
