Project Scheduler

Summary

Reporting to the Scheduling Lead, the Project Scheduler is responsible for developing and maintaining Engineering/Design, Purchasing, and Production schedules. This includes but are not limited to: developing proposal schedules, what-if scenarios, and providing detailed and accurate reports.

 

The ideal candidate will have strong communication, organizational skills, and can prioritize and multi-task. They are an energetic team player with the ability to work with minimal supervision and has strong initiative and self-motivation.

Principal Responsibilities and Duties

  • Coordinate with project management and production departments to ensure that they are aware of any schedule adherence issues
  • Work collaboratively with Project Managers to ensure project schedules are developed to meet internal and external customer needs
  • Flag any conflicts or concerns pertaining to labour hours, material or timelines
  • Attend production meetings on a weekly basis
  • Develop, maintain, and update project schedules daily
  • Attend pre-manufacturing meetings as required
  • Work with all stake holders to try and bring the project back on track if schedule impacts are incurred due to missed dates
  • Create what-if scenarios to simulate possible outcomes based on different variables
  • Liaise with team members to ensure they are aware of all issues that are affecting scheduling adherence
  • Trend the top scheduling adherence issues on a weekly basis
  • Collaborate with the scheduling team to generate solutions to increase overall productivity in the facility
  • Provide KPI reporting to department heads
  • Maintain manpower resource loading reports

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in a scheduling/planning role, preferably within a manufacturing environment
  • Primavera P6 experience is essential
  • Experience working on EPC Projects (Manufacturing, Mining, Metals, Nuclear, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, etc.) seen as an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel
  • Familiarity with blueprints and other engineering documents would be an asset
