Process Mechanical Engineer

Summary

Enerflex is looking for a Process Mechanical Engineer to lead process engineering projects in a high energy manufacturing focused environment. Reporting directly to the Supervisor, Process Engineering, this role would oversee the design and packaged manufacturing of gas processing facilities. This individual will work closely with our fabrication department to see the project come to life in our facility every day, responsible for all aspects of their team’s projects from design through to commissioning.

 

Candidate must be excited to work in a manufacturing focused environment. Focus is on projects being accurate, complete and timely.

 

With a foundation of integrity, the candidate would use commitment and creativity to drive our organization forward. This position will be located at our 4700 47 Street SE Calgary, AB location.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

This role will offer the right candidate variety in their daily work life, learning opportunities and the chance to add value to our current gas processing projects. We require someone with strong communication skills, matched with sound problem solving and decision-making skills. Your ability to lead by influence, mentor, be organized, establish clear objectives, and monitor key measures, will enable you to deliver the results you need to be successful in this role. You must be able to work effectively within a multi-stakeholder environment and seek to be collaborative on all fronts.

 

  • Address daily shop floor questions to ensure the production team is setup for success
  • Review general arrangements and 3D models to ensure design constructability
  • Create process flow and piping / instrument diagrams
  • Take part in HAZOP and SIL review meetings
  • Specify instrumentation including sizing PSV’s and control valves
  • Size vessels and piping based on process information

Qualifications

  • Background in a modular packaging manufacturing environment
  • Aptitude for assembly and fabrication
  • Engineering Degree
  • Process experience in deep cut/cryogenic plants is a large asset
  • Experience in packaging condensate stabilizers, amine units, refrigeration units, etc.
  • Proficiency in sizing pumps, heat exchangers, air coolers, and compressors required
  • Experience in pressure vessel and piping design is required
  • Experience in sizing pressure relief valves and control valves is required
  • Knowledge in Hysys process simulation software will be considered an asset
