Material Handler
Summary
Reporting to the Parts Manager, the Material Handler is responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations, including receiving and unloading shipments, inventory storage and control, material handling, and the distribution of goods and materials within the branch. The role also ensures accurate completion of routine paperwork and warehouse documentation as required.
This position is based in Calgary, Alberta.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Safely operate a ¾-ton truck and 18' trailer to transport parts, equipment, and materials to field locations and customers.
- Perform shipping, receiving, loading, unloading, and material handling activities.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely (forklift certification is an asset).
- Maintain accurate shipping, inventory, and driving records using company systems.
- Verify, receive, store, pick, pack, and prepare materials for domestic and international shipments.
- Assist with inventory control, including cycle counts and stock organization.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Comply with all Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) policies and procedures.
- Perform general labor and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Alberta Class 5 Drivers License. Must have a satisfactory driver abstract.
- Ability to multi-task, identify priorities, and meet tight deadlines in a fast paced environment.
- Must be self motivated, well organized and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills; able to work collaboratively with all branch departments.
- Must be capable of heavy lifting (up to 75 lbs).
- Must be able to work flexible hours and available for potential overtime.
- Safety tickets such as First Aid and H2S are considered an asset.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment medical and D&A test is required for this position.
