Major Projects Engineering Coordinator - 12-Month Term

Summary

Reporting to the Major Projects Engineering Lead, the Major Projects Engineering Coordinator is responsible for supporting the coordination and execution of engineering deliverables for major projects. This role focuses on drawing coordination, tracking engineering and project deliverables, and providing technical and administrative assistance to project teams.

 

The successful candidate will work closely with Engineering, Document Control, and Production to ensure information flows accurately and efficiently across project stakeholders. The individual in this position is expected to function independently in a fast-paced environment involving frequent internal coordination and technical communication.

 

Our ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, is detail-oriented, and can effectively prioritize and multitask. They are an energetic team player with a proactive mindset, capable of working with minimal supervision while demonstrating initiative and accountability.

 

This position is a 12-month Temporary Assignment and is well-suited for a junior or early-career engineering professional looking to gain exposure to major projects.

 

With a foundation of integrity, the candidate will use commitment, collaboration, and curiosity to support the successful delivery of projects. This position is based out of Enerflex’s 47 St Southeast Calgary location.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Coordinate and track engineering deliverables for major projects, ensuring alignment with project schedules
  • Support drawing coordination activities, including distribution, revision tracking, and follow-up with Engineering and Document Control
  • Assist Engineering teams with technical documentation, transmittals, and data compilation required for project execution
  • Maintain logs and trackers for drawings, documents, and engineering deliverables
  • Liaise with Document Control to ensure proper distribution, revision control, and document status reporting
  • Provide technical and administrative support to Engineering and Production teams as required
  • Assist with responding to internal requests for drawings, specifications, and technical information
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives related to engineering workflows and documentation practices
  • Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Engineering Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline is preferred
  • 0–2 years of experience in an engineering support, project coordination, or technical administration role
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Comfortable working with engineers, designers, document controllers, and production teams in a collaborative environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Exposure to engineering drawings and technical documentation is an asset
  • Familiarity with EDMS systems (e.g., Adept, Bluebeam) is considered an asset but not required
  • Willingness to occasionally accommodate late-day engineering deliverables through flexible hours
