Lead Hand - B Welder JM
Summary
Reporting directly to the Vessel Supervisor, the purpose of the Lead Hand, Vessels includes, but is not limited to, monitoring job progress and employees within work area as well as ensuring packages are assembled to Enerflex standards and ensure adherence to all Enerflex’s Health and Safety policies.
The ideal candidate demonstrates integrity, commitment and creativity to achieve success within our organization.
Shifts:
Monday-Thursday
5:00pm – 3:00am
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide oversight and task direction to different trade disciplines
- Work closely with Quality Control department to schedule 3rd party inspections and x-rays
- Provide leadership and direction with continuous improvement, 5S and Lean manufacturing processes
- Hold daily toolbox meetings and issue the Pre-Job Hazard Assessment (PJHA) to the Supervisor
- Ensure all employees are working safely and producing quality product while adhering to health and safety policies
- Support and drive a culture of continuous improvement
- Report incidents/accidents with complete paperwork within the required timelines
- Communicate effectively with fellow Lead hands and Supervisors within the shop
- Develop new ways and methods to aid in the manufacturing process
- Ensure employees are swiped into proper jobs to ensure accurate time keeping
- Work within a tight schedule to allow for minimal overtime and meet shipping deadlines
- Perform ongoing inspection of all finished units to ensure quality is to Enerflex expectations
- Ensure employees are informed of all meetings and attend accordingly
Qualifications
- Possess a valid Alberta Journeymen Certificate with Interprovincial Red Sealed Journeyman and Alberta B Pressure Certificate
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the manufacturing of gas compressors and/ or processing Vessels
- Proven experience working with heavy vessels is considered an asset
- Previous experience in a leadership capacity considered an asset
- Possess sound planning and organization skills
- Good communication, interpersonal, and proven leadership qualities
- Ability to direct, coach and assign work to team of employees
- Dependable, reliable, with proven attendance record
- Ability to work overtime as required
- Results oriented and a team player
- Knowledge of various welding procedures and vessel fitting experience an asset
- Eager to support Vessel Supervisor and Vessel Team
