Head of Internal Reporting & FP&A

Summary

Reporting to the VP Corporate Controller, the Head of Internal Reporting and Financial Planning and Analysis (“FP&A”) is responsible for the Company’s internal financial reporting and planning function. The position plays a key role in the Company’s quarterly and annual external financial reporting and in the preparation of financial reports for the Board and Audit Committee. The position also oversees the company’s consolidation and planning system.

 

This position is based out of Enerflex’s Downtown Calgary Corporate office.

Principal Responsibilities and Duties

  • Directs the preparation of the consolidated quarterly forecast and annual financial budget;
  • Manages the monthly and quarterly review of regional and consolidated financial reports;  
  • Oversees the company’s consolidation and planning system (SAP BPC);
  • Manages the corporate accounting function;
  • Ensures corporate accounting policies, procedures and internal controls are applied consistently;
  • Supports the preparation and review of the quarterly and year-end financial statements;
  • Plays a key role in the preparation of Audit Committee and Board materials;
  • Assist in the continuous improvement of the reporting and planning processes;
  • Provides supervision, guidance and support to team of 5-6 accounting and business systems professionals;
  • Promotes a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, collaboration and communication

Qualifications

  • Professional Accounting Designation with at least 8-10 years of relevant experience in financial accounting, reporting, budgeting and forecasting, in multi-jurisdictional and multi-currency companies;
  • Highly analytical and insightful with strong business acumen and experience in interpreting and communicating financial and business information;
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) to facilitate significant interaction with senior management and business unit leaders;
  • Strong time management skills, enabling completion of responsibilities within required timelines;
  • Collaborative, flexible and open leadership style, with a desire to develop a fun and rewarding work environment;
  • Knowledge of IFRS and experience with complex accounting transactions;
  • Experience with consolidation and ERP systems, preferably SAP (ECC and BPC).
