Estimator - Production Scheduling/Planning

Summary

Reporting to the Factory Acceptance Test Team Supervisor, the purpose of the Estimator is to work with the Manufacturing, Engineering and Application teams to estimate fair costing and delivery impact of changes to work in progress, as well as new bids.

 

With a foundation of integrity, the candidate would use commitment and creativity to drive our organization forward. This position will be located at our Calgary, SE facility.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

  • Read drawings to understand the scope of the work order and general specifications associated with the job.
  • Conduct detailed examination of job specifications and customer change requests to provide accurate estimates of hours for fabrication and Assembly labour, required to manufacture the product to the required standards.
  • Compiling and reviewing labour submittals, on multiple projects.
  • Communicate bid and change order labour hours to all applicable functional areas including production, scheduling and project management.
  • Take the lead on developing tools for improving accuracy and efficiency of estimating labour hours.
  • Utilizes the experience and expertise of cross-functional team members to ensure best costs and productivity requirements are achieved.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and estimation calculations (advanced functions, macros). 
  • Knowledge of Python for automation and data manipulation considered an asset.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs is advantageous for understanding project requirements.
  • Familiarity with Power BI for data visualization and reporting. 
  • Experience in compression and process fabrication estimating considered an asset.
  • Technical diploma, trade and/or related industry/manufacturing/technical experience considered an asset.
  • A results-oriented attitude with solid analytical, critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated focus on quality, accuracy and thoroughness
  • Detail oriented, meticulous and attentive, and a good team player with integrity, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience in SAP considered an asset.
  • Customer focused with the ability to meet deadlines.
