Business Analyst

Summary

 

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with strong abilities to work in a technical and data centric environment. In this role, you will be supporting various systems, tools, and processes within the Engineering business area, primarily for North American Manufacturing and assisting other global Engineering units.

 

The ideal candidate is confident, capable professional to work directly with Engineering business team members and with IT teammates acting as liaison between both groups.

 

As with other departments at Enerflex, Engineering relies upon SAP to facilitate a range of business operations, and proficiency in understanding and supporting this system is a key aspect of the role. Additionally, Enerflex employs a suite of engineering applications that enables our engineering processes and incorporates our industry knowledge and expertise. This position requires experience as a business analyst to support the software development teams serving Engineers A background in application integration and cross-functional systems, particularly with SAP, is highly valuable.

 

Success in this role will depend upon strong business knowledge, especially in an Engineer to Order manufacturing organization, and the ability effectively manage a wide variety of tasks and technical tools.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

  • Collaborate with business partners to clarify or define new business opportunities.
  • Collaboratively develop technical requirements, functional specifications, and other supporting documents that will help guide technical teams to the right solution.
  • Perform analytical thinking and problem solving to resolve issues and propose solutions for in-house and third-party Engineering focused solutions.
  • Coordinate IT activities, conduct training and documentation activities.
  • Collaborate effectively with IT teams, translating business requirements to functional design for development teams.
  • Proactively identify and communicate potential risks, challenges, and roadblocks that may impact successful completion of work.
  • Support Business Process Mapping initiatives related to the engineering phases of the manufacturing business units.
  • Support and recommend change management activities to bridge adoption to new solutions.
  • Conduct administrative functions as needed. 
  • Absorb technical and complex concepts and translate them into precise, context‑specific requirements and specifications.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent in an IT-related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years in a modern software development environment
  • Minimum 5 years referenceable experience performing business analysis
  • Self-motivated team player with passionate task ownership and strong attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written, oral, and listening)
  • Experience in an Agile software development environment is a strong asset
  • Knowledge of standard business process mapping and tools is a strong asset
  • Knowledge or experience of Manufacturing and/or Engineering industry is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) process is valuable
  • Knowledge of systems integrations is an asset.
  • Knowledge and usage of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is an asset
  • SAP or other ERP experience within the Manufacturing industry is an asset
  • Ability to influence outcomes through building relationships and contributing business value
  • Ability to manage and assist with continuous improvement projects from concept to implementation
