Senior Proposals Manager

Summary
This position is responsible for coordinating and preparing commercially and technically sound proposals for Enerflex’s engineered processing and treating systems that fulfill external and internal customer requirements. Working closely with engineering, sales, and manufacturing to develop complete, accurate and timely proposals for presentation and execution by Enerflex’s clients.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Executing multiple, concurrent proposals, prioritizing support resources and escalating, as necessary.
- Managing the proposal process to ensure proposal quality and timeliness.
- Scheduling of proposal activity.
- Guidance of proposal assistant and proposal design resources.
- Accurately develop financial model with information provided by estimating and application engineering.
- Working with application engineering and other technical resources to complete technical scope of supply in proposal.
- Working with sales to complete commercial scope of supply in proposal.
- Actively seeking opportunities to streamline and standardize the proposal process.
- Coordinating with engineering, manufacturing, and scheduling to determine hours/schedule basis for financial model and proposal pricing.
- Provide mentoring to less experienced team members.
- Other responsibilities as assigned to support the continuing improvement of the proposal development process.
Primary work activities are to:
- Review and define scope for new RFQ's.
- Schedule proposal kickoff meeting with proposal team.
- Establish proposal deliverables based on proposal pricing accuracy.
- Establish proposal schedule based on proposal deliverables and resource availability.
- Receive inputs from specialists; direct compilation into completed proposal scope of supply commercially and technically.
- Develop and Review Enerflex Processing and Treating financial models.
- Prepare proposal for internal peer review and distribution to account manager / Client when approved.
- Hold weekly meetings with the account manager and proposal team to ensure the proposal scope and schedule is being met.
- Participate in client RFQ scope of supply meetings, as necessary.
- Conduct Hand-Off Meeting with Internal Group once an order has been received.
Secondary work activities include:
- Identification of similar quotes or work orders to be referenced for proposals.
- Maintain and update company boiler plate to be included in the proposal as needed.
- Develop standards and templates for use in generation of proposals.
- Develop tools to increase proposal efficiency.
Qualifications
Required Skills or Tools:
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Visio), Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to read and understand, Equipment Datasheets, P&IDs, Process Flow Diagrams and Heat & Material Balances.
- Ability to review and understand equipment and skid drawings.
- Ability to streamline, standardize, and document procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups with a wide range of technical expertise to impart instructions, knowledge, suggestions, and information.
- This is complex and skilled work requiring intense attention to detail, client needs, production requirements and costs.
Preferred Education/Experience:
- Engineering Degree or Technologist Diploma
- Five (5) plus years’ experience proposal management, project engineering, project management or technical sales.
- Eight (8) plus years’ experience in engineered Gas Process & Treating systems, preferably with process equipment experience.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to work intensely and accurately under tight time deadlines.
- Work is carried out in a typical engineering office setting utilizing standard engineering equipment.
- Work is subject to tight deadlines with conflicting and changing priorities and may require longer, non-standard working hours to complete.
- Some international and domestic travel may be required.
