Process Engineer VI - Service

Summary

The Broken Arrow Service Engineering department assists or leads several important functions within the Broken Arrow Process and Treating technical group.   The Service Engineering team is responsible for troubleshooting Enerflex products installed in the field, assisting Enerflex international operations, providing technical oversight for other engineering groups, and serving as a Process and treating product expert resource.  An ability to adapt and pivot from one type of task to another on short notice is important for working in this group.  Excellent problem solving skills and collaboration on solutions is also an important element to the service engineering team. 

This position if for an experienced process engineer with 10+ years of relevant experience.  The job will involve providing process engineering support and technical authority for the Service Engineering team located in the United States. Position will be based in the Exterran Broken Arrow, OK office and will provide support for both external and internal customers in the form of process simulation, troubleshooting, technical support for upgrades, debottlenecking studies, and completion of engineering service requests. This position will support any process related technical requests made to the service engineering group and will interact with the field engineers, local operations teams, the P&T engineering functions, and the warranty group as necessary.  Travel to sites for direct support will be occasionally required.

 It will also provide an opportunity to collaborate with other experienced engineers on a variety of challenging technical problems.  A chemical engineering degree is preferred, but other BS engineering degrees will be considered.

The Broken Arrow Service Engineering department includes highly skilled, motivated engineers that are adept at problem solving.  This group contributes greatly to the overall success of the company in many ways.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

AMS Technical Services / Brownfield Opportunity Support

  • Initial process work and scope development for upgrade and retrofit proposals
  • Performs debottlenecking and optimization work for external customers as assigned.
  • Performs site visits for troubleshooting and technical services as assigned.

P&T Process Engineering Support

  • Completes P&T related engineering service requests as assigned.
  • Review and development of new engineering tools and standards.
  • Participates in Hazops and design reviews for new plant projects as needed
  • Mentor less experienced engineers as needed.

Balance of Plant (BOP) Execution Support

  • Assists with scope development on sold projects that include BOP
  • BOP equipment specification and quote evaluation
  • Assists with preparation of engineering deliverables for BOP equipment
  • Support new facility commissioning as needed with review of startup procedures, technical advice, and troubleshooting with emphasis on BOP equipment.

Qualifications

  • B.S. Degree in Chemical Engineering
  • 10 Years Gas Processing or Related Oil and Gas Industry Experience
  • Extensive Process Simulation Experience
  • Proficient with Process Engineering Related documents: PFDs, P&IDs, material balances, equipment datasheets, equipment lists, line lists, cause and effect lists, and process control narratives.
  • Strong knowledge of vessel sizing, pump curves, heat exchanger performance, distillation towers + tower internals, basic process control, and hydraulic calculations.
