Pipe Designer I

Summary

The Broken Arrow Engineering department is responsible for providing the detail engineering and design required to fabricate Gas Processing and Treating facilities and equipment. The Engineering department is made up of all disciplines required for this effort. Typical equipment designs include mechanical refrigeration units, fractionation trains, cryogenic plants, amine systems, molecular sieve, and other systems found in the midstream market.
This position if for an individual new to the piping design discipline.  It will provide an opportunity to work with and learn from very experienced piping designers to develop skills.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

The Piping Design group is focused on creating the piping deliverables for fabrication. Some examples include:

 

  • 3D Model of Equipment
  • 3D Model of Piping Arrangement for module designs
  • Piping isometric drawings
  • General Arrangement drawings
  • Spool Bills of Material

 

In general, the Designer will be responsible for the following:

 

  • Learning all aspects related to the design of piping for gas processing through formal and informal training
  • Completing assigned deliverables in a timely manner
  • Following up on technical issues and concerns with the appropriate disciplines
  • Interacting with the members of the piping team and other disciplines on a daily basis to ensure progress of project and personal development
  • Attending weekly department meetings
  • Gaining familiarity with Enerflex processes and procedures. 
  • Maintain knowledge of codes and standards applicable to the products in the global market.
  • Duties must be performed consistently with the company mission and values and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Quality: Ensure alignment of Enerflex, customer and vendor quality control and quality assurance in bids.
  • Abide by and promote Enerflex’s HSE policy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

Education and Certifications:
Required

  • Experience using AutoCAD
  • Exposure to 3D Modeling

 

Desired: 

  • Associate degree in ME, Drafting, or related field 

 

Experience:
Required:

  • Requires use of computers, drafting tools, hand tools, and measuring instruments 
  • Good organizational and planning skills 
  • Coordinate with others to accomplish objectives 
  • Proficient using complete Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and PC skills 

 

Desired

  • 1 – 2 years in a designer role
  • Proficient using 3-D CAD design. Ability to visualize in three dimensions. 
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions 
  • Strong creative ability to design and develop mechanical equipment 
  • Self-motivated, ability to work under general supervision, close attention to detail 
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communications
  • Must be able to work under pressure 
  • Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department 
  • Overtime as required

Physical Requirements

Fast-paced general office environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity. Domestic and international travel is possible on occasion.
