Manufacturing Assembly Process Manager

Summary

Responsible for coordinating and evaluating the manufacture of parts and/or equipment, including all aspects related to safety, cost efficiencies, productivity, quality and scheduling.  Provides daily direction and leadership for several manufacturing departments within a single plant.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assists the Manager, Manufacturing Operations on the work activities of department supervisors with leads to achieve maximum quality and productivity of the department
  • Assists the Manager, Manufacturing Operations by recruiting, selecting and training employees
  • Assists the Manager, Manufacturing Operations to maintain job results through coaching, counseling and disciplining employees
  • Work with manufacturing departments and planning to set schedules for production
  • Reviews and implements production schedules for manufacturing departments to establish priorities
  • Analyzes reports to determine the cause of manufacturing problems and resolves problems
  • Assists in the development and controls of the departmental budget
  • Coordinates production requirements between departments
  • Audits processes, quality procedures and production quantities for compliance and correctness
  • Reviews new or updated production processes and/or machinery for implementation, including justifications.
  • Interfaces with Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Engineering to resolve problems and improve quality, cost and speed of products manufactured.
  • Maintains a safe and productive working environment for department personnel
  • Helps develop staff to upgrade supervisory ability and increase floor leadership
  • Helps coordinates communication between 1st and 2nd shift Supervisors
  • Oversees timeliness and accuracy involving recording and entry of labor hours
  • Ensuring resources (Space, Manpower and Equipment) are appropriately utilized and allocated according to different project and production schedule.
  • Responsible for Quality and Delivery in all disciplines within the workshop.
  • Ensure all work is carried out according to Work Instruction.
  • Other responsibilities as needed and assigned

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience with large equipment manufacturing, preferably at least 3-5 years with gas compression and processing equipment.
  • Three years’ successful experience in a management role.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat or X-Change PDF.
  • Must be able to read mechanical and technical drawings.
  • Able to accurately manage several tasks simultaneously, paying detailed attention to schedules.
  • Must have solid communication skills both written and verbal to clearly communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Experience with SAP preferred.
  • Overtime may be required based on business needs and operational load.
     

Physical Requirements

Fast-paced general office environment and industrial environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity. While performing duties of the job the employee will be regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, and moving mechanical parts.  The noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud.
