Estimator II

Summary

The Cost Estimator II is responsible for coordinating and preparing accurate and timely cost estimates that support client proposals. This role works closely with application engineers, proposal managers, manufacturing teams, and vendors to ensure estimates align with scope, current market conditions, and internal standards. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks. 

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates to support proposal and change order management.
  • Provide cost estimates for pressure vessels and process towers utilizing internal tools and databases.
  • Implement, review, and manage estimates for use during proposal development.
  • Collect and maintain current cost data on materials and labor rates.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing leads to ensure labor-hour estimates are accurate.
  • Work with vendors to ensure pricing aligns with current market conditions.
  • Produce proposal or project budgets from both detailed inputs and high-level deliverables.
  • Utilize estimating tools and databases to quickly prepare budgetary & firm estimates.
  • Generate instrument and valve quantities and estimates from internal databases.
  • Work with Proposal Managers to ensure proposed scope aligns with estimates.

Qualifications

  • 7–10 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or related disciplines, with direct estimating experience in the oil and gas industry and/or Bachelor’s degree in business ot engineering 
  • Ability to work independently or as part of assigned proposal teams.
  • Highly organized with strong multitasking capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented self-starter capable of meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage staff, management, customers, and vendors.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and engineering drawings.
  • Preferred experience with SAP or other ERP systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; strong skills across MS Office.

Physical Requirements

Fast-paced general office environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity. Domestic and international travel is possible on occasion.
