Engineer IV, Mechanical

Summary

The Enerflex Broken Arrow team designs and fabricates Gas Processing and Treating modules and equipment. The Engineer – Mechanical – is a member of the Execution Engineering team for our Broken Arrow, OK location. They are primarily responsible for the accurate and timely completion of ASME Section VIII Division I ASME Code Calculations for vessels and towers on Gas Processing and Treating projects. All work must be performed consistent with company mission and values and adherence to company policies and procedures.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform and/or coordinate the Mechanical Engineering activities for the projects.
  • Interfaces with Instrument, Electrical, Process, Project Engineers, and Drafter/Designers in a matrix organization.
  • Design/Specify/Select mechanical equipment (vessels, towers, etc.)
  • Perform/Review mechanical calculation of static equipment (vessels, towers etc) in accordance with client and industry standards (ASME, API, etc.).  Knowledge of commercial software is required (Compress)
  • Provide material selection for mechanical equipment and piping based on process and ambient conditions.
  • Perform/Review stress analysis calculations of piping in accordance with client and industry standards. Knowledge of commercial software is preferred (CAESAR)
  • Inform Project Engineers of changes to design and/or scope that may impact deadlines, workloads, assignments of the team or project budget.
  • Prepare/Review Technical packages for procurement.  Evaluate vendor quotations and provide technical recommendations.
  • Consults with other company and sub-contracting engineering firm personnel as needed to complete tasks.  Monitor sub-contractors and ensure work is complete accurately and on schedule.
  • Provides regular updates of engineering status, drawings, BOMs
  • Participate and contribute to a team effort, exchanging ideas and recommending improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5 years industry experience.
  • 4 years experience in the design/specification of ASME/Process & Treating equipment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of industry standards like ASME, ASTM, API, OSHA, etc.
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial software for the design of pressure vessels (Compress)
  • Working knowledge of commercial software for piping analysis (CAESAR) is preferred
  • Experience with API Storage Tanks is preferred.

Physical Requirements

Fast-paced general office environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity. Domestic and international travel is possible on occasion.
