Maintenance and Operation Technician III

Summary

This position will perform operation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair for electrical and mechanical equipment. Effectively aids the lead man in performing maintenance of total property and equipment on remote wellhead platform (WHP).

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

  • Maintains production equipment and performs property and equipment operations and maintenance within guidelines, minimizing downtime.
  • Diagnoses and repairs electrical/mechanical breakdowns on wellhead platforms (WHP).
  • Installs, repairs, and maintains various mechanical/electrical equipment (motors, forklifts, transformers, etc.).
  • Requires knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Works under limited supervision, following facility requirements.
  • Adheres to HSE rules and regulations.
  • Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on WHP equipment.
  • Responds to after-hour callouts.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills.
  • Completes work orders as directed.
  • Supervises according to policies and laws.
  • Maintains good relationships with co-workers.
  • Trains and mentors team members.
  • Leads emergency drills and ensures safety during incidents.
  • Supports onshore training and work.

Qualifications

  • At least Diploma or equivalent or equivalent combination of education and experience in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years in offshore petroleum industry works or related experience and/or training

Physical Requirements

  • Requires operation of heavy equipment, such as WHP crane on a rare frequency
  • Requires employee to constantly climb stairs or ladders to inspecting, repairing and painting equipment and must be able to maintain balance on stairs or ladders or scaffolding with assistance.
  • Must be able to communicate and respond to coworkers, customers and emergency cues/alarms, in person and on the telephone, including use of mobile devices
  • Must be able to frequently lift at least # 5pounds (hand carry)
  • Requires work in outdoor and/or offshore conditions
  • Requires work on loud environment
  • Requires moving and maintaining self in different positions stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
  • Must wear all required PPE, including fire-retardant clothing, helmets, face shields, hearing protection, safety goggles, steel -toed boots, as facility requirement.
  • Position requires travel by boat or helicopter for crew change
  • Position requires employee work as a rotation of 3 weeks on and 3 weeks off (3x3week) in one location and changeable.
