Proposals Engineer III

Summary

 The Proposal Engineer will be responsible for preparing, coordinating, and submitting competitive technical and commercial proposals for gas compression and gas processing projects. This role involves analyzing client requirements, developing cost-effective and technically compliant solutions, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality bid submissions. The Proposal Engineer plays a critical role in securing new business opportunities by aligning company capabilities with client expectations.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

  • Review and analyze Request for Quotations (RFQs), ITBs (Invitation to Bid), and client specifications.
  • Develop technical proposals including process design concepts, equipment selection, and system configurations (e.g., gas compression, treatment, dehydration, and separation systems).
  • Coordinate with internal departments such as engineering, procurement, project management, and supply chain to gather required inputs for proposals.
  • Prepare cost estimates, pricing structures, and commercial proposals in line with Enerflex guidelines and market competitiveness.
  • Ensure all proposals comply with technical, commercial, and contractual requirements.
  • Identify project risks and opportunities, and incorporate mitigation strategies into proposals.
  • Liaise with vendors and subcontractors to obtain quotations and technical data.
  • Participate in bid clarification meetings and provide technical support during client discussions.
  • Maintain a database of standard costs, supplier information, and proposal templates for efficiency.
  • Support contract negotiations and handover of awarded projects to execution teams as per Enerflex procedures.
  • Stay updated on industry standards, technologies, and market trends in gas processing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • 5+ years of Project Engineering/Proposal Engineering Experience.
  • 5+ years of engineering, design, and construction experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience using applicable codes and safety regulations.
  • 3+ years’ experience with gas compression, gas processing and refrigeration equipment.
  • 3+ years’ experience with EPC projects and fabrication facilities.
  • Fast-paced general office environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity.
  • Ensure adherence to company quality standards, HSE policies, and regulatory requirements.
